This is a painting of a bunch of flowers that have been in my studio window for months, the flowers are long gone and the leaves are very dead, i should have thrown them out long ago, yet they are still here waiting for me to paint them. I can let them go now.

Abstracting Physics Art

 

 Art and science have  collided for this project.This is one of a series of images. I was looking at how artists look see and examine the world in terms of still life and objects.Scientists look at objects as things too. These images abstractly represent the stuff inhabiting the universe of quantum physics.

There are a lot of quantum physics references in this piece.  I find the connections between art and physics fascinating. Artists spend a lot of time, examining, looking and seek out different perspectives and ways of seeing. Artists like physicists know that the act of observing, changes things.

 Mixed media diptych on wood panels. Each piece  measures 30 x30 cms or approx a foot squared. They hang approx 1/2 inch from wall and can be arranged  in various ways,close together or separately.

 Making abstract paper shapes by shifting, mixing and composing.

I am making more shapes and trying out few things, cardboard and black tape, I like the negative shapes and the cell like feel the multiples make however they have ended up looking like rolls of tape!! back to drawing board, im trying to create a flowing network that isn't made up of perfect components.
